12.08.20 | Eu Trade Agreement With Mexico

The interim agreement, which was to be in force until the comprehensive agreement came into force, was approved by the Mexican Senate on 23 April 1998. The proceeds of this agreement were approved by the European Parliament on 13 May 1998 and the parties exchanged instruments for ratification on 30 June 1998, allowing the interim agreement on accompanying and accompanying measures to enter into force on 1 July 1998. In 1997, Mexico was the first Latin American country to sign a partnership agreement with the EU. The EU-Mexico Economic Partnership, Political Coordination and Cooperation Agreement came into force in 2000 and created a Free Trade Area (CETA) between the two parties (see trade section below). In addition, regular high-level contacts will be established between the EU and Mexico and will serve as a catalyst for increased investment flows. [3] The AGREEMENT between the EU and Mexico will not change the rules that suppliers, whether foreign or domestic, must respect: trade statistics and details of the 1997 trade agreement were signed by the EU and Mexico for an agreement on economic partnership, political coordination and cooperation. It included a part of the trade, which mainly opened up the trade in goods. This trade agreement came into force in 2000. The part of the Trade in Services Agreement came into force in 2001. Nearly two decades later, it is time to update the agreement. The EU and Mexico already have a lot to do: in 2015, the European Commission published new guidelines for transparency. Since then, the Commission has published all the new negotiating documents presented in trade negotiations.
