Kurt Riester helps clients attain business goals through a broad range of intellectual property practice. Kurt has assisted clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to non-profits with patent and trademark litigation and prosecution in a variety of technical fields including the mechanical and electrical arts, medical devices, graphical user interfaces, software, and sporting goods. Kurt has worked with teams litigating in federal court and in adversarial proceedings before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and the United States International Trade Commission.

Kurt graduated cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law, where he served as an Executive Editor of the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. Kurt also gained valuable experience serving as a judicial extern for the Honorable Matthew F. Kennelly of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Prior to joining Banner Witcoff, Kurt worked as a mechanical engineer designing material handling systems for coal power plants. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
