John’s practice includes the preparation and procurement of patents in matters primarily in the electronics and computer fields. He has a broad technological background including signal processing, internet of things, wireless networking, computer vision, embedded digital systems, and cyber security.
John graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Chemical Engineering, specializing in business and physical chemistry. He earned his law degree from the University of Iowa College of law, where he was a writer and contributing editor for the Iowa Law Review. John graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a Masters of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he developed and taught a course on Cybersecurity Law.
Prior to joining Banner Witcoff, John worked for a large general practice law firm, focusing on patent preparation and procurement. He is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois and the U.S. patent and Trademark Office.
